Irina Malinskaya's Medovik (Honey Cake)

My grandmother said that back in Ukraine she used to swap honey cake recipes with her neighbors. The beauty of this cake is its density. While that sounds strange, it is supposed to be filling; similar to the original purpose and texture of a pound cake. Every time I see this cake at the table, my mouth starts to water. I hope it brings the same amount of joy to you all.

Serves 4-8 Total cooking time: (25 min prep, 50 min cooking)

STEP ONE: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

STEP TWO: In an electric mixer beat the eggs. Then add the sugar, honey, tea, baking soda, flour, and oil. Make sure each ingredient is fully combined in the mixture prior to pouring in the next ingredient.

STEP THREE: Pour cake mixture into a greased bundt form and bake for 50 minutes.

STEP FOUR: Allow the cake to cool and top with powdered sugar.
